Caroline Néron’s beaded goddesses:

Caroline Néron’s Spring 2012 presentation was the kind of runway show that I probably fantasized about as a child in the ‘90s, but haven’t expected to see since. There was a live singer, a live drum beat, a wind machine, and a story of slinking goddesses falling to earth.
Whole-body chains were worn with stacked bracelets, rings, earrings, and metal-fringed epaulettes—my personal favourite detail. Three goddess-specific looks emerged on the runway, each very similar but with slightly different colouring—but the pièce de résistance was the final look: the lone model who walked out in body chains with wing-like strings of gems and beads attached to jeweled cuffs garnered audible gasps. Gasps, yes, but we’d like to know just what kind of gasps those were.

Maria B.latest semi formal Collection 2011:

Maria B. Semi Formal Collection 2011 is beautifully designed keeping Pakistani women in sight. Lose A-line shirts paired with wide legged trousers have fine embellishment at sleeves border and neckline whereas the bottom of shirts is adorned with sparkling laces. Bright colors such as dark red, olive green and bright yellow are commendable with black dress being supreme.

Men’s hair trend for 2011 / 2012

There’s a men’s hairstyle that hasn’t left the catwalk in some time: the slightly tousled, slightly devil-may-care, forward sweeping men’s hairstyle. It’s been called many a thing, but with its Regency overtones and the fact that it continues to be favoured and interpreted by many a British indie band, it’s a hairstyle we’ve dubbed the Brit-rock hairstyle.
It’s also a hairstyle with enduring appeal and while we’ve been talking about it since 2009, we have to be clear that it has evolved. The ‘wet look’ of 2010, for instance, will look positively outdated in 2012 for instance.

Myer: what to expect in Spring

If nothing else, then Australia’s departmental store battle has proved one fact – get a stunning model to prance down the catwalk and you’ll get smiling faces walking out the door. With a glitzy show, department store giant Myer did just that as it unveiled its spring / summer 2011 offering in Sydney last night.
Brand ambassador and face of the store Jennifer Hawkins led the charge of models celebrating summer on the runway, while the chilly wind and rain lashing Sydney outside argued otherwise. But as paraded last night, the southern hemisphere is en route for a delightful treat in the upcoming warmer months.
And what will Myer be offering for those months? You’ll find that after the break along with all the catwalk pictures.

Crochet and macrame fashion trend

From ship’s ropes carefully knotted and tied by the hands of crafty sailors, to the crocheted blankets your grandmother gifts you at Christmas… macrame and crochet will likely be familiar to you in some sense. For spring 2011 both make a strong return; but forget the homemade craft feel – as a 2011 fashion trend it’s all about intricacy, quality and a luxury edge.
