The secret behind Kate Middleton’s royal glow—it’s oxygen:

While her innate (and stylist-less) understanding of style, designers, and affordable glamour remains myth-like, Kate Middleton’s skincare routine is not a complete mystery—she confessed in a recent Vogue UK interview that she swears by Karin Herzog products. So when I heard that the Swiss brand was coming to Montreal, I had to get the inside scoop on her royal glow.

As it turns out, Middleton discovered the Karin Herzog skincare line—now celebrating its 100th anniversary—from a friend at St Andrews University. (Yes, the same place she met her prince.) According to our intel, oily skin is the duchess’s problem. To control the spots, Middleton turns to Karin Herzog Crème Oxygen Face. Noëlle Herzog, official spokesperson and daughter of the company’s founder, explained the role of oxygen: it combats bacteria on the skin and controls the production of sebum—and together, this clears the path for a clear complexion.
What about wrinkles? The duchess reportedly reaches for Karin Herzog Vita-A-Kombi 1. A small dose of oxygen (1%) combined with vitamin A does the trick. For someone with dark spots (or hyper pigmentation) Karin Herzog Vita-A-Kombi 3 would be the product of choice, as it contains the strongest dose of oxygen at 3%.
Not one to be left out in the cold, I’ve been testing the Crème Oxygen Face for a few days now. I like that it’s matte and odourless. You’re supposed to “apply without massaging in”. My skin drinks it up quickly, imparting a rich, velvety touch. Is this what it feels like to be royal?
