Tom Ford's lipstick

As for how it actually wears, it glides on beautifully and stays on. Mind you, in the gold-stamped ivory case which just screams luxury it’s always a joy to pull one out of your purse and reapply anyway.

Try and choose a lipstick colour in most brands and you’ll find yourself frozen before the excess of colours in a fortified state of choice paralysis. There’s an upside to having practically every shade under the sun, of course, namely that you can find a very specific colour should you ever want to. But if you’re just browsing through the endless vortex of shades – heaven help you.

On the flip side there’s Tom Ford‘s Private Blend Lip Colour collection. Walk up to a Tom Ford counter and you’ll be met with a veritable curation of colours, only the best, only the most desirable. The upshot is you can’t go wrong. You could own every colour without amassing any unnecessary clutter to your makeup bag. Personally I’ve developed something of a signature look from Ford’s True Coral, but that may change though having just added Moroccan RougePure Pink and Blush Nude to my growing collection.

Visit tomford.com – for Australian readers head to your nearest David Jones beauty counter to indulge in all of the Tom Ford Private Blend lip colours in person.
